Letter from the Founder

Your ability to walk through this world in a grounded and centered manner will assist you in accessing your inner intuitive voice and help you move through the world with ease and grace.

As the summer sun warms the Earth, it is a good time to reassess our grounding connection to the planet. What is grounding? In the model of Intuition Medicine, it is an energy system that is interconnected to our physical anatomy that enables us to establish a connected awareness of our body, mind, and spirit. It allows us to ascertain and create a solid foundation of self-awareness.

An issue that distresses many people is feeling disconnected from our own sense of self; feeling unable to get centered and come into a state of union with our body, mind, and spirit. What do you do when you feel this disconnect? What brings you back to your own center?

Try this quick visualization:

Imagine walking on a lush green field of grass and dropping down onto the earth and looking up to the sky. Drop all feelings of resistance off your body and into the Earth. Imagine that you feel heavier, denser, and more relaxed with an overall sensation of being pulled down into the Earth. This sensation is the experience of the action of gravity. In the practice of Intuition Medicine, gravity is a powerful, natural healing force that helps us ground.

Grounding is the single most powerful healing technique to apply to your daily life. Some of the benefits include:

  • Feeling centered, clear and self-assured.
  • Feeling calm despite overwhelming crowds or noise.
  • Experiencing more sustained creativity.
  • Experiencing greater focus during exams, playing sports, or any activity that exerts the physical, emotional, or mental body.

What can you do this summer to help yourself become more grounded and centered in your body? Outdoor activities such as gardening, biking and hiking can help bring you closer into harmony with our beautiful environment and the Earth’s natural resonance. You can also practice daily visualizations.

Step back from your daily routine and spend a couple of minutes with the following exercise:

Close your eyes and imagine that you are standing inside the trunk of a giant redwood tree. You are part of the heartwood, the new wood at the center of the tree. Now visualize the trunk of that tree extending down, deep into the center of the Earth. And see the roots of this giant redwood encircling the Earth’s core, locking in and locking you in. Feel your grounding energy flowing freely down the tree into the center of the Earth. And feel the grounding energy of the Earth flowing freely up the tree into your body. You have created a two-way grounding connection. The Earth receives energy from you that is out of harmony with who you are, and you receive energy from the Earth that is nurturing, and protective.

The visualizations that you can use are limited only by your imagination. Trust your intuition and creativity to feed you new images as you need them. Some examples include:

  • Sitting at the top of a mountain
  • Being within a waterfall that reaches the center of the Earth
  • A tube of golden light, or
  • An extension cord plugging into the center of the Earth
  • You can also use sound to help you ground. Experiment with different songs or tones that assist you with grounding.

Your ability to walk through this world in a grounded and centered manner will assist you in accessing your inner intuitive voice and help you move through the world with ease and grace.
